Captured Bf-109

Abandoned  Messerschmitt Bf-109's were found  and being made flyable. See Peter's log book entry on 10 November 1942. On this day Peter did a 45 min flight with this particular  Messerschmitt:

Peter did several flights with his pet Bf-109 until it was crashed by him while engine failure occurred on 8 Dec 1942.

Before paint job.

Looks like the painter busy to  finish off the roundels.

Closing up the Daimler-Benz

Freshly  painted aircraft. It seems that the red wing tips are also painted on as this was 1 sqdn's custom with all its aircraft. Note the new sqdn Spitfire V's that arrived a few days before this pic was taken.

Peter with 2 mechanics.

Cranking the starter inertia wheel. Note the 2 erks standing/sitting against  the tail plane.

Note again the Spitfire on the horizon. The 4th photograph was most probably taken with the camera man standing on top of the truck at the back ground.
